Through the love of God, Garden of Hope dedicates itself to the service and empowerment of women, men, and children affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other forms of violence as well as the promotion of family well-being and community justice.

Our Story

Garden of Hope dedicates itself to serving, caring for and rebuilding the lives of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking, specifically targeting the growing NYC-area Chinese community. Since 2004, we have worked with Chinese immigrant families in crisis, helping them overcome cultural, language and socioeconomic barriers.  Garden of Hope believes that human rights are essential to all, and that dignity and a positive self-image are the birthrights of every individual.  All services provided are free of charge and strictly confidential.

Garden of Hope Services

  • Helpline

    It provides real-time communication between our staff and callers seeking assistance.

  • Crisis Intervention

    It is an immediate and short-term service to deescalate a critical situation.

  • Emergency Shelter & Relief Fund

    To provide a temporary place to live for safety and short-term financial help for those in crises.

  • Case Management

    It offers coordination, evaluation, and advocacy for options available so that the needs of each individual may be met based on the availability of resources without stigma.

  • Legal Advocacy

    It is to work within the legal system on behalf of our clients to advocate for their rights or needs.

  • Mental Health Counseling

    It is to provide care for the ones who are seeking help in dealing with issues that affect their lives. These issues can include personal problems of a behavioral, emotional, marital, vocational, or life-stage transition.

  • Support Groups

    It is usually conducted by our trained mental health counselors to create a safe space for individuals with common experiences for support and discussion.

    Vocational Training: It is an education that trains people for the day-to-day activities and skills that they will need to succeed in their profession.

  • Child and Adolescent Counseling & Mentoring

    Child and Adolescent counseling is a type of therapy that focuses on youth with one or more mental illnesses. It also provides assistance to youth who have experienced trauma and/or are living in an unhealthy home environment.

  • Youth Empowerment and Mentoring

    It is to match an older sister and brother who can provide guidance and goals for the youth to be empowered and achieve their potential.

  • Parenting Support

    To foster strong relationships between parents and their children through education and practical support.

  • Community Outreach and Education

    To provide any kind of support, resources, or services to its community. It also plays an educational role by increasing awareness of the existence of these resources.
